Is pre-med program absolute?

Do you have to be admitted into the Pre-med program in order to apply to medical school? basicly, is there any way to get into medical school in you are not in the pre-med program?

The tricky part is the recommendation letter I believe. It may appear odd that you are not getting a recommendation letter from the HC PreMed Program which is only provided to students in the program. They try to control the quality of applicants so that medical schools know that someone recommended by HC is of high quality and consequently their acceptance rate is close to 90%. If you do not have this recommendation this will throw up a red flag at medical schools.

Also, it will be next to impossible for you to get into the classes you would need. People not pre-approved for pre-med/ bio seldom can fit into the bio and chem classes. They don't have priority and don't get in.
