College of the Holy Cross vs Bentley University vs Fordham University

Hi I am currently deciding where to go for University.

I just wanted to ask for some insight on which of the three schools would be best in terms of academics, athletics, prestige, campus dining, facilities as well as dorm life. The three schools being College of the Holy Cross vs Bentley University vs Fordham University.

Thanks so much.

Holy Cross followed closely by Fordham and then Bentley a more distant third.

Depends to a degree on your major and career interests. Bentley rated number 21 in Business Week rankings for undergrad business programs (ahead of schools like Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon). There are few programs that do a better job of linking technology into the curriculum.

You can also do what I did and go to HC undergrad and then go to a Top 5 MBA program like Michigan for your MBA.

Was that very costly though for you?
My niece went to James Madison and got her masters free from the company that recruited her from JMU. They paid for that and her CPA, but sometimes comapanies don't.

Yes but it got me a job at Microsoft so it turned out to be a very good investment.

HC or Fordham

If you're thinking of a business major, HC has none. It is a liberal arts college so no pre-professional programs. Bentley is not a very distinguished school and frankly a rock solid liberal arts education from a top flight school will get you much further than a BA in business from a no-name school.

Fordham is in NYC, so there are far more opportunities for internships and professional exploration.

HC has a highly regarded economics/accounting program that will give someone a solid business background and they offer a number of internships with top Wall Street firms which can easily be found on their web site.

I've heard of accounting majors at HC, and I didn't think they had a further degree, that got jobs right out of undergrad, but maybe I am wrong. This was on their site:
Economics and Accounting

Economics provides important and powerful insights into the human experience through the study of how people allocate scarce resources among competing demands. Studying economics at Holy Cross gives students a particular way of thinking, as well as the tools necessary to interpret the fascinating and intricate workings of the local, national and international economy.

Students may also choose to elect the College’s renowned accounting major. Accounting majors follow a core curriculum to learn how financial information is developed for and used by decision makers in the economy
