I was just thinking about how great a really good commencement speech is...
If you know of any good ones, feel free to post them...

Oh, sorry...

Commencement Speeches are given by famous people to the graduating class of a college every year. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commencement_speech)

I think they must be randomized because it's not like the more famous you are, the better the college you speak at is. I think George Bush gave the speech for Oklahoma State University this year (nothing against Oklahoma State, it's just not Harvard).

My brother graduated from Wake Forest in 2003 and that year the commencement speaker was Michael Bloomberg. I've always felt it was an amazing speech.

Here's the transcript: http://www.wfu.edu/wfunews/2003/051903f.html

my high school this year is having

Michael McCurry- Former press secretary for Bill 'the man' clinton. I think he will be good but I find out when i go to graduation

Last year it was Former secretary of state, under Bill 'the man' clinton, Madeleine Albright.-I saw this one, she gave a really good speech, she was funny and gave good advice.

A fewsyears ago bush gave a speech here but no one here really likes him.

My college, UMD, and their busieness school had Carly Fiorina(you can find a link to the speech at the bottom) this year, former grad, ranked most powerful business woman 6 times in a row by business week , and CEO of Hewlett packard. Her speech was alright. She gave advice about the future of business, nothing to special.

Last year they had kevin plank (real media player, his introduction starts at like 19:30 and he starts at 22:00). He is a former grad and the CEO of under armour which just got named the 6th hottest company by business week. I like his speech because I like sports, I like him, and his story is pretty amazing. He had nothing 6 years ago and started a company that which now rivals nike. The growth of the company is amazing, which is a reason it is among the top 10 hottest companies.

I saw Jon Stewart's address at William and Mary's graduation on TV a few years ago; I don't remember anything specific, but I really liked it then.

Michael Bloomberg is giving the commencement speech this year at the University of Chicago. Nobody is quite sure why.
