Double Major or Major and Minor

I'm thinking of doing a double major in both Communication and Economics. I don't really know what I want to do career wise, and I would be able to finish both majors in 4 years. But I'm still not sure if I want to major in econ, or just get a minor in econ. I feel if I only have a major in Communication, employers might not think as highly of me as Communication is regarded by some people as kind of a joke. Also, I would have to retake a Calc class that I had a great deal of trouble with the 1st time around if I was going to major in econ. Should I do the double major, or should I just focus more on Communcation?

If you have a strong passion for both subjects, then double major. If you like one major considerably more than the other, than major in that one and minor in the other.

I'd suggest taking classes in both and then decide whether you want to double major in both or choose one in a minor. In either case, you will eventually need to take at least some of those classes whether you declare one a major or a minor.
You don't need to decide right now.

Also consider researching what employers in your field value.
