this is strictly for the awesome....

lol jk all thoughts are welcome, even from lame people. i'm curious about what people in general think of sorority's and their members? not steryotypes, but your opinions based on the interactions you've had with them. i understand that it all depends on which specific group, but i want your opinions of sororities and their members as a whole(not just your thoughts on the sluttiest or snottiest chapter around.) it would be cool if i could get a nice assortment of opinions, guys and girls, greeks and non... thanks a ton

also, if you know anything about Texas A&M greek life i would definently not turn up my nose at that information

A&M greek life is ok. Frats here are definitely just about partying, but sororities tend to have a different persona. All types of people are in sororities at A&M, so you'd have to be more specific to get a generalization about one or the other.

Sorority members are involved in everything. And they're also the majority of the girls who show up at all the parties because all the GDI's at my school don't like to throw down.

I cannot comment on the scene at A&M, but at the engineering/science oriented school I went to (and am transferring out of) there was little difference to speak of between the Greek and non-Greek population among females. The only real difference is that they held alot of leadership positions in random clubs because they could get most of their house to show up for elections and vote them in.

From what I understand, you'll need to learn to love the Dixie Chicken.

My school didn't have greek life, but I have a friend (actually an ex-gf) in a sorority and she loves it. It helped her make a lot of friends, and since she went to school far away from home they became almost a second family for her.

one of my sisters was in a sorority and also liked it -- she made a lot of friends there, but ended up leaving because it was too much about partying and they weren't breaking out of their social circle that was the sorority
