Ok thanks guys, you've made my decision easier. I hadn't thought of the fact that I would need to buy a car/insurance/gas and pay for traveling expenses in my initial price. Including that it will only be around $1000 extra at least for the first year. I think I will try to pay them some of it back still.

In addition, you can apply to be an RA after freshman year. If you're selected, you get free housing. I believe that's the standard practice at many schools.
