What are college expenses that I will likely face during the school year?

You know, things like books and other supplies or things for entertainment.

going out to eat with friends was definitely a main one for me--you don't want to miss out on the social aspect, but it adds up!
secondary expenses were probably cover charges at bars or parties, chipping in for liquor, and (pretty rarely) going shopping for clothes i convinced myself i needed (for themed parties or when the seasons changed) or going to movies. i actually spent the most money on clothes when i went home every so often for the weekend since i never really got the chance to shop while i was at school. i also spent a decent amount on concerts & i smoked a moderate amount of weed all year but actually can't really remember ever paying for it..

Costs associated with printing things. That may be your own printer, paper, and extra printer cartridges (you always need one in the printer and one on the shelf), or it may be costs for printing things out on the school's printer.

Costs associated with photocopying things.

Costs associated with transportation, whether that's gas for your own car, chipping in for gas when someone gives you a ride, or public transportation.

Decorations for your room.

Small gifts for friends.
