| Graduation Gifts Wishlist
My parents have been asking me what I want for my graduation presents because there are a few aunts/uncles, family friends, and grandparents who feel compelled to buy me gifts. There's not really much that I want... I always have this problem at christmas, my birthday, etc. Usually I just say clothes and not much else and end up getting a lot of random crap that I don't want.
Does anyone have suggestions for useful stuff to have in college that I could ask for?

What? you mean we actually get presents?
money's actually a good idea, you can use it for books and going out and stuff in college (if you have a lot of rich relatives that is).

... but what do you say when people don't want to give you money OR gift certs? I'm at such a loss as to what to tell people. I mean, I don't want them to get me random crap that I don't need. I was thinking sheets or something but I'd want to give them the exact brand and color and count and that's kind of tacky(like gift registries are IMO) I told my uncle to get me a plasma TV... he's so rich and was bugging me asking what I wanted and I told him to get me a big 'ole plasma. My aunt told me he was looking at LCD type TVs so he might have taken me seriously LOL! I told my aunt I'd go shopping with her one day for college goodies so we could pick stuff out together and have a day of "bonding". My grandparents are doing stock certs...
I don't know... maybe ask for some gift pack type stuff... like a nice practical medical kit with cold medicine, cough medicine, motrin, bandaids, etc. Then maybe a cleaning supplies caddy filled with cleaning stuff or tool kit... that stuff is easy and can't be screwed up.
Good luck!

Definitely get a tv, and maybe an alarm clock so you can wake up for early classes.

Go to www.amazon.com
Make a "wish list" which you can have specific products and notes and direct everybody there.

Any suggestions on how to build something along the lines of Clocky? How do you wake up and what are the graduation goodies you'd ask for to help?

Get them sweatshirts and t-shirts with the college name printed on the front
Get them a watch-so they wont be late for stuff. Plus, lets face it, even though a cell phone tells time, every adult needs a watch
If you wanna give money, set up a checking account with them and put money in it for them

So, you suggest engineering some sort of triggered blind-opening system? An automated dimmer switch on the room's lights? Ask my parents to climb three escalators and a few staircases each day to open my windows?
I'm looking into getting an alarm clock for the deaf. I can sleep through my current clock just fine. In fact, that's how I wake up in the morning-- my alarm goes off, wakes my parents clear across the house, and annoys them until they pound on my door, screaming at me to unplug the monster. Does anyone here have a hearing impaired relative? What do they use? Are the devices within a graduation gift price range?
