I'm dyscalculic, cut me some slack. >.< I will actually probably end up with like 150k total not including any interest, and none of my interest is deferred for the next five years I am in school. My interest rate is variable, it started at 6%, but I have no idea how much it'll end up costing. I definitely wont be paying it off in ten years.

Right now they're paying for it but they may cut me off. That'd be bad. Because I sure as hell don't want to take out $12,000 in loans each quarter.
I'm gonna have a 529 plan when I have a family so I can hopefully pay for my kids' tuition. If I can't though then they'll have to go to a CC for their first two years.

Wow, I feel really sorry for alot of you. I'm not going to American unless they offer financial aid. I've made myself a promise that I wouldn't take out ANY loans for undergraduate studies. Hooray for UBC with their love for IB kids.

I don't know why everyone is *****ing to you but I'd be pretty ****ed off if I was in your situation. I'm not in college yet but I do expect my parents to pay for college, yeah I said EXPECT. I just hope mine don't flake out on me like yours did, no offense or anything. Good luck trying to pay off the loans, must suck. =/

If I heard you say that in person, and there was a golf cart handy, somebody would be under it and it wouldn't be me.

| Get a job!!!!!!!!!!
Part time employment during college is an excellent way to build character, resume and bank accounts...entitlement by a college student is none of the aforementioned. Parents can budget and distribute their money as they choose, and often the financial picture is vaster and more involved than it may seem to a teenager. Moreover, strive to achieve the highest GPA and personal references that you possibly can - often there are university/private scholarships that award this type of accomplishment...focus your energy on personal achievements, discovering possible scholarship opportunities and building your college transcript and resume in a manner that will allow you to pay back the $14,000 and land yourself a successful job (so that you can support yourself and your family...and maybe give your college kids some entitlement money)...
