Milk crates and cinderblocks are some of the most useful things one could ever imagine. Milk crates can stand in for tables, bookshielves, ottomans, and any number of wonderful things. cinderblocks and a board makes a sturdy desk, they're also good for bed risers.

Great food for thought, sparks the imagination of what to bring. Love the theory that 100 pairs of underwear could get you through the semester without doing laundry.

I haven't read all the pages, but another item: Ziploc bags. They're good for transporting shampoo, conditioner, etc. in luggage or for snacks on the go.

Another thing - bring a spare lightbulb or two for your desk lamp. Mine burned out at home and we have no bulbs...it would definitely be good to have the right type with you.

Also, it's very unlikely you'll need an atlas...and if you do, I'm sure the library would help.

website with cool dorm room products

When I was entering college 4 years ago, I had a hard time finding websites that featured cool dorm room products, so I put together a site that does this... www.ballerdorm.com. The site is new and growing, but it should be a good place to start your dorm room shopping online.

Thank you for compiling the list!
