    2 ways:

    (1) Dress in the bathroom or shower stall
    (2) Wear a robe and change in the room (if you do this, you can put on a pair of panties and bra in the bathroom before hand, put on the robe, and change in your room)

I never thought of this as a problem. Assuming you're both girls, it's nothing you haven't seen before...what's the big deal?

My roommate hung up a curtain in the closet to get dressed behind. I just use a shower stall or bathroom stall, and if I were friends with my roommate, I'd be fine just changing in front of her.

This, for both sexes, unless one of you is gay.

There's nothing wrong with feeling insecure.

I don't feel comfortable dressing in front of someone either if I'm not really good friends with them. If it were my best friend and she didn't feel uncomfortable, I would get dressed with her in the room without caring at all.

Well, I mean...just slip on your underwear under a robe and turn away when putting a bra if it bothers you. I mean, you're both girls, right?

I don't really see this as a problem. I'm not really uncomfortable getting dressed around other people.

Considering the person will be your roommate, you'll probably get used to/become friends with them pretty quickly. And I get dressed around my good friends all the time.

If it really bothers you, though, just set up a curtain of some sort in your room or dress in the shower/bathroom.

Not true. Do you check out every body of the opposite sex? If I saw my roommate naked, I wouldn't be turned on.

Why not just change in the bathroom or ask your roomate to look away?

Just change without shame. On my sports teams, it's never been an issue, and I'd assume that you'd be good enough friends with your roomie to be comparable to a teammate. Of course, this is from a male's perspective, but I'd think that the point is still relevant.

I completely agree. I'm not a girl, but I hade no problem changing in front of other guys in high school. If you are, just ask your roommate to turn around so you can change. It's really that simple.

Just wear a towel - you reveal less wrapped in a towel than you do in a bathing suit, which we wear in public...

I share a bathroom with 3 other girls and we all just do towels...i guess if i was in a co-ed bathroom or something I'd use a robe but towels are fine if it's all girls. I guess if you're uncomfortable, try wearing bra/panties under the towel and putting them on before you leave the bathroom?

also, i doubt that your roommate is staring at you when you change...i think it's common courtesy to glance away when your friend or roommate is getting dressed after a shower

No, don't work this out with your roommate. Your roommate will only hurt you and make you feel insecure. Take our advice and use a towel/curtain barrier instead.

Not true. It is silly to use a curtain barrier. Heck, even if I roomed with the opposite sex I think it would be silly. I would just turn around for a minute and the problem is solved.

Towel technique: Face the wall of your side of the bedroom. Make sure the towel is tied at your top and put on your underwear/bottoms. Then move your towel so it's around your shoulders (the ends will hang in front, if you get the idea) and put on your bra. You should be comfortable enough at this point to remove the towel and put your shirt on.
