Low GPA pretty high test scores

I have a pretty low GPA (2.37) going into my senior year of high school but i decently high ACT score with a 28. I go to a top prep school however and was wondering if i would have a shot at getting into:
-Ohio University
-Kentucky
-Miami OH
-Arizona State
Feedback would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

Very low chance at OU (bottom 1% for GPA and that is highest rated for admission). Better chance at UK but still low (4+% and scores are weighted the same as GPA). Virtually no chance at Miami (0.3% for your GPA). ASU would be similar to UK. Can you afford all those OOS schools? Have you looked at one of your directional Us or CC to establish better grades and transfer?

Don't listen to the last poster. Schools look at way more than just your GPA for admissions and if you really go to a top prep school like you said than schools should take that into account. The only school I believe that is out of reach on your list is Miami. Arizona State has an extremely high acceptance rate at over 90%. I'm pretty sure the only way you can't get accepted there is if you're a felon. Kentucky and Ohio are both just middle of the road state schools that both have over 75% acceptance rates so with your high ACT score you should get into those schools pretty easily. As long as you have some extracurriculars and have no criminal background than you should be fine in getting into UK, AzSt. and OU. Best of luck.

I would think that if you go to a top prep school then the chances are that you have a competent college counselor you should be asking this question to. Your college counselor most likely can tell you how students with your academic profile and other assets have fared at those schools, or similar ones, in the past. I would say that Miami University is a tougher potential admit than the other schools you listed.

Since merit scholarships are unlikely because of your GPA.....

Can your parents pay full freight?

If not, then how much will they pay each year?

What is your likely major and career choice?

There are some good schools that would accept you.

However, until we know how much your parents will pay each year, it's hard to say which schools would work.

What state are you in? edited...duh Ohio, right? LOL

2.37 at a tough prep school could be the equivalent of 3.37 at a school from which less than 50% of kids go on to a 4 yr. college. The adcoms will know how tough your school is if it is a top school, and discount or convert your GPA to something meaningful to them.
