Am I insane, or will I get into some of these schools?

Well I'm done with apps! YAY ME! And I've come up with a list of my choices in order.. Tell me if you think this is reasonable for me, and where you think I'll get my first acceptance..

1. Rice - Early Decision
2. Brown
3. Harvey Mudd - Early Decision 2 if I don't get into Rice
4. Cornell
5. Penn
6. Chicago
7. Northwestern
8. Tufts
9. Vandy
10. Notre Dame
11. Emory
12. Middlebury
13. Rochester
14. USC
15. NYU Poly
16. BU
17. Tulane
18. UT-Austin - Already accepted

I want to go into either chemical engineering or chemistry...
3.98 GPA/ 95 Unweighted Avg.
32 ACT/ 2180 SAT (took ACT again this morning.. maybe 33?)
top 5% of class
NM commended, AP scholar w/ honors
I talked a lot in my essays about how I help to support my mother. I talked about my quirks, like how I don't care about matching or tying my shoes. I talk about how I had to quit basketball when I was a junior because my mom got conned by a man she was dating for tens of thousands and I had to get a job, but that I liked my job. I talked about the homeless man who lived at the grocery store I worked at, and how I connected with him, when others simply snubbed their noses at him. I talk about how I'm my own person. I have a really tough schedule in school *7 APs... I'm not a world-class athlete or anything, but I think my essays are good nonetheless.. I highlight my job and family situation wherever applicable. If I saw the app, I'd barely notice that my EC's aren't really strong..

These schools are fits for me, more so at the top than the bottom

So where on this list, should I start seeing "ACCEPTED"?

I'd say not too shabby, that you got into 7 of them! Yeah! Great job! Any one you are leaning toward? My daughter hated when I kept asking her that question, but you are not my D so I can ask that and not get the eye roll.

Chemical engineering has better job and career prospects than chemistry.

Things may very well change in college, too.
