im sure this has been asked before. so i apologize in advance...

ok. so basically i would like to know what kind of schools i should be looking it with good SAT scores, great extracurriculars, great recommendations, great essays, but only an OK gpa.

i know that gpa is generally the most important thing, but are there schools were everything else is equally or even more important?

preferably i would like something not too big or too small, coed, east coast. big city and yada. but the important thing now is figuring out schools that fit the other criteria and then narrowing it down from there.

thanks so much for your help!

I don't know if that's the best plan. Anything worthwhile you can glean from there can be found on this board, and some better information, too.

superstarr567, the attributes of the school you want are more important than where you can get in. if you know most of the characteristics of the schools you're interested in, you have a much smaller list to narrow down of where you can get in. How small is too small, how big too big? How close to a city? What else?
