Which major to go with for pre-med?

I'm going to go to UT-Austin, and I'd like to do either pre-med or pre-law..
Should I stick with biomedical engineering or should I switch to a major I'd probably enjoy more, Psychology?
Pros and Cons?

choose a major that you LIKE so you'll have the best GPA. E majors tend to have lower GPAs.

Are you instate for UT? your location says that you live in NY.

Concur. Choose the one you like. Psych would be fine, and if you want to keep the premed route open, just make sure you take the science prereqs. At some places neuroscience is an interdisciplinary program between psych and biology, so that may be something to look into as well (don't know if UT has that as an undergrad major or not).

My friend's kid majored in food nutrition at UT, graduated in three years and now a second year student at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Point is, major in what you enjoy and get very high GPA.
