Help making a decision on a school...

Ok so I am a senior and I've heard back from almost all of the colleges I've applied to.

I would like to hear some opinions on which school would be best to attend.

I want to major in computer science btw if that matters.

The schools I got into are:
Appalachian State (Honors)
UNCC
UNCG

I'm still waiting to hear back from chapel hill but i doubt i'll get in there so tell me what you think is the best school especially for computer science out of the ones I got into.

thanks!

Appalachian State and UNC Greensboro have ABET accreditation in computer science. UNC Charlotte has ABET accreditation in computer engineering, which often has a greater hardware focus than computer science. You may want to check the courses and curricula to see which matches your interests the best. ABET accreditation, while not mandatory in computer science, is a good indicator that the degree program meets a relatively high minimum standard (some good computer science degree programs are not ABET accredited, but ABET accreditation does give some assurance of quality at a lesser known school, some of which have very limited computer science departments and thus cannot meet ABET accreditation criteria).

You may also want to ask each school's career center which companies come recruiting. Greensboro is closest the the Research Triangle, though it is not obvious how much the closer distance would make in terms of attracting recruiters versus Charlotte or Boone.

ucbalumnus has some good advice. Appalachian State has a better graduation rate but UNCc is putting out a lot of engineers which may help with technical opportunities in general. UNCG has no engineering at all so it would all be on the computer science department. Definitely take a look at internship possibilities and who is recruiting.

UNCC has put a lot of money and effort into its engineering and architecture programs lately in an effort to compete more seriously with State. Although it still lags, it's an excellent option for in-state students. It still has a reputation for being a commuter school, but the university area has absolutely exploded lately, so there's a fair amount to do.

App is a good school, and the honors dorms are really nice, but it leans towards other areas (namely education, business, and the arts). That said, the science facilities have been renovated recently and are nice if not exceptional; I've only seen biology and geology, though, so I can't vouch for computer science. App has a lot more school spirit than UNCC, and I really like the college town feel of Boone. Many admittedly find it far too small.

I don't think UNCG is as good an option as either of the other two. It has been trying to shake its reputation as a commuter/suitcase school with varying levels of success (like UNCC) and is not as good in computer science/engineering. Greensboro and the Triad are growing but not nearly as fast as Charlotte and Raleigh.

in my opinion its UNCC>App>UNCG this is because UNCC has an entire college that is just dedicated to computing while at app it is in the arts and sciences department. UNCC computer science program IS accredited. They also offer both a BA and BS while app just has a BS. While i think the school life at app would be better if u could get over the cold, the computer science at UNCC will give u more options. I will be attending UNCC this fall for computer science I also turned down app. I am still not 100% sure it was the best choice but i guess we will find out later. Since this post is a little old where did u decide?
