Villanova vs. PSU

I am a high school senior trying to decide whether I should attend Villanova or Penn State next year. This decision is especially difficult considering each school has a number of unique positives and negatives. For PSU, cost of attendance is about 26,000, but I did not get into the Honors program. PSU also boasts a superior social and sports scene. In addition, I have been a lifelong PSU fan. For Villanova, cost of attendance is roughly 50,000, as I received the $6000 Villanova scholarship. Villanova is ranked higher and is more prestigious, but it is also much more expensive. While I like Villanova athletics, I have heard that Villanova's social scene is nowhere near that of Penn State. This is an extremely difficult decision; any input is greatly appreciated!

Sounds easy to me. Is there any reason besides ranking that Villanova is still in the running? If not, it's PSU all the way.

    We are Penn State!

PSU is ranked pretty high these days. I can't see where Villanova would be worth twice the price. Also, I went to Penn State and now live not too far from Villanova. You just can't compare the college experience. Penn State is SO much better - the town, the social scene, the feeling of community.

Penn State is the better school at 1/2 the cost? Works for me.

Both business schools are very reputable. I don't think VSB is worth 100k more over Smeal.

As a parent of a current college student, you and your parents have to consider the large disparity in cost. If you would be happy at either school then save the money for graduate school and go to Penn State. The PSU business school is very respected.

I'm in the same situation. Villanova was my top-choice school, until the $6k financial package arrived. I love everything about it: academics, location, athletics.
The cost of attendance is too hard neglect, so I virtually omitted Nova from my college list. Now, I'm choosing between PSU and GWU.
