| Help finding match schools?
Hey everyone! There are plenty of safety and reach schools i'm applying to, but I can't seem to find really any match schools.
1. I'll be going for visual arts, so a good art program is a must
2. Universities only
3. Preferably a marching band and/or equestrian team
4. Financial aid is definitely a concern
I'd like schools that are on the smaller side, but large schools are okay.
My Safeties:
Clemson
University of Georgia
Reaches:
Cornell ED (applying directly to art department, 50% portfolio, 50% academics)
Yale, UChicago (interviewed and visited), UPenn, Northwestern (hopefully through questbridge)
UNC Chapel Hill
GPA ~3.75
ACT 27 (English 28, Math 21, Reading 29, Science 31, Writing 7) Plan to retake
No class ranks
I also go to a public residential boarding school for the arts, so I will be submitting a portfolio to all of these schools.
If you have any suggestions/chances/comments/all of the above, I really appreciate it! If I can help anyone out on their own thread I'd be glad to!

And you better get your ACT up to above 30, it will really help your chances at your reaches. Maybe try URochester as a match, though you'll probably need a higher test score.

I don't know why you think Clemson and UGA are safeties. Clemson accepts about 50% of those who apply and your scores are below the 50%ile. You line up marginally better at UGA but you will pay OOS costs. It looks as though your family cannot afford that.

Clemson is a match school because I'm in-state and I've been working with the professors there on an open-source project by providing graphics and such. Not that it's a sure thing, but I feel pretty confident about it. I'll be applying through questbridge with all of those schools, but for regular decision and not through the match program.
I'll look at URochester, thanks |

Guessing you go to the Governor's School Of Arts & Humanities in Greenville?
I would say Clemson would be a match for you then. Let me know if you have any questions about Clemson!!

I do, yes (: I can live with Clemson being a match. I would like to go there if I don't get into any of my reaches, hopefully this will work out. Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I have any questions!
Oh! If this helps anything, I got my AP scores in. Lang: 4 Human Geography: 5. Probably not, but eh.

Any other suggestions? I guess I should be more worried about safeties now:
Safeties:
UGA
Matches:
Clemson
CMU-fine arts/design
Reaches:
Cornell ED
UNC Chapel Hill
Hopefully through QB- Yale, UChicago, Penn, Northwestern

If you can't afford UGA it's not a safety. How would the cost for one of the regional USCs look?

USC Upstate is most favorable to me out of the bunch, but i'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't mind Winthrop at all, but the only thing would be the lack of a football team. I'll probably apply to Winthrop even though, a lot of alumni from school seemed to like it there, I probably would too. I'm not sure, I just wish there were more options for safeties that I was really excited about :/
