1. University of Chicago:
https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.e...act/faqs.shtml (SAT Writing "supplemental")
https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.e...sprofile.shtml (SAT Writing excluded from report)

2. Cornell University:
Cornell Engineering: Freshman FAQs (While from the website of the engineering school, clearly states that Cornell is NOT looking at the writing section)

3. Georgetown University:
Preparation Process - Office of Undergraduate Admissions (Under test requirements "Georgetown only considers the critical reading and math portions of the SAT, not the writing section.")

4. Grinnell College:
Apply - Admission | Grinnell College (...and for the SAT, we consider your best individual critical reading and math scores.)

5. UMass Lowell:
Apply (UMass Lowell is reviewing only the math and critical reading sections of the SAT)

6. Swarthmore*: (SAT Essay not evaluated)
Standardized Testing Policy :: Admissions & Aid :: Swarthmore College

7. Cal Poly SLO*:
(link is needed)

8. Iowa Public Universities:

All CSUs except SLO: see CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Calculate Your Eligibility Index . This eligibility index, which does not use the SAT-W, is used to rank-order applicants for an impacted major or campus to determine admission; a minimum of 2900 (in-state) or 3502 (out-of-state) is needed for admission to a non-impacted major on a non-impacted campus.

Cal Poly SLO: see Common Data Set - Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis - Cal Poly (section C8.C of the common data set indicates that SAT-W is not used).

Note that automatic admission based on a threshold Regents' Admission Index (excluding SAT-W) admits only a portion of the class, similar to how class rank only admits only a portion of the class at Texas public universities.

In general, looking at section C8.C of the school's common data set should reveal how the SAT-W is used, if it is used.
