I think Michigan is a Reach situation.

GPA: Average
SAT: 25th%-tile (Probably lower among OOS applicants)
ACT: 50th%-tile

Can you afford Michigan as an OOS student? Total COA for an out-of-state student is over $50,000/yr and Michigan is notoriously cheap with financial aid for OOSers.

vinceh, pretty sure that a 32 ACT is the 75th percentile mark for UMich for the ACT. At any rate, not being ranked in the top 10% hurts the OP.

Pretty sure Michigan doesn't super score SAT or ACT. What's your best single sitting ACT?

College Navigator - University of Michigan-Ann Arbor

According to the stats submitted by Michigan to the government, 29 is the 25th%-tile ACT and 33 is the 75th%-tile. So a 32 is probably closer to 60th%-tile. Michigan doesn't superscore ACTs so I'm concerned that the single sitting ACT is lower.
