Other LACs in a similar cost and selectivity range include Centre College, Sewanee, Knox, Lawrence, and Hendrix.

Best Values in Private Colleges, 2012-13

St. Mary's College of Maryland is another public LAC to consider.

Austin College has a good reputation for pre-med, very supportive, and gives merit aid.
