Question on University of Illinois Vs. Rutgers University and also about my Major.
Hey guys, I just created an account but I've been using this forum for a while now to search about colleges.
I applied to quite a few schools, my dream college UMich rejected me, but I was able to get into my backups. At the moment I have been accepted into University of Illinois, Rutgers University, and University of Delaware. Originally I applied to Illinois for computer science but the department was full and now I have an unassigned major. I applied to Rutgers and Delaware for business.
I know I messed up quite a bit, but I changed from Computer Science to Business in a matter of days after I applied to Illinois, because I just couldn't get my decisions straight. Now, after researching some more, (because Illinois has me assigned to undeclared major) I was looking at econ (I am taking AP Micro right now and it's quite fun). Now I'm just completely confused on what to do, and my parents aren't much of a help because they didn't really have the conditions I have right now during their college years.
So I have a few questions, which I really hope I can get some answers for. After getting deferred from UMich (today) my mind is just a mess.. :(
For business and economics, should I pick Rutgers or Illinois?
Is Business better or Economics?
What do I actually... do... once I get my degree? Especially for an economist? I know Rutgers and Illinois aren't the best schools in business and econ, so I'm sure that my pay won't be as high as someone who got a degree from-say-UC Berkeley or UCLA, is that right?
Statistically speaking, for someone who went to an average school for these majors, what are their annual income?
Lastly, should I try to get into computer engineering instead?
Thank you VERY much guys for your help and your time. I really am just lost... D:
