It's unimportant what we think, ELove07. What matters is where you can be happy. You've put down four very different schools. What is it you want?

I honestly don't know how someone can actually get excited to attend UCB at the undergrad level.
It seems so ghetto to go to a big public state school just because it's the number 1 public school in the country.
I like the idea of University of Miamie and Notre Dame for the overall experiance. Notre Dame I think would be best.

| I honestly don't know how someone who apparently has never visited and knows very little can come up with a conclusion about a University only based on the fact that it is a large state school. Would you rather go to an Ivy?
I don't know much about UF or UM. Notre Dame is pretty good overall. Berkeley might offer the best education but in terms of pre-med it's very competitive, so have that in mind. Why not visit, or at least take the virtual tour online to see which ones you like?

Well...if you want to go to a school in florida and not break the bank, then UF would be a better than UM. Living about 15 minutes away from UF I can honestly say that it is a great school (def. one of the best publics) with a beautiful campus. I don't know how great the pre-med program is, but it's gotta be good considering UF has one of the best hospitals in the nation, Shands. I ended up deciding not to go to UF because I didn't want to live in Gainesville for another 4 years (I've lived here for the past 10 years), but if I lived anywhere else, UF would def. be somewhere I would want to go.
And the honors program is amazing (to qualify for it this year you needed a minimum 4.0 weighted gpa and 1400 (m + v) on the SAT). It gives you so many great opportunities. Another great quality about UF is that if you're a NMF then tutition is waved, which, for out of state is quite nice. UF also has great athletic programs, which hopefully you already knew, which makes for a great social scene on campus.
One negative about UF is that a lot of people see it as a commuter campus. I don't know exactly how true this is, but I can say that a lot of undergrads live off campus, the main reason being the dorms suck. So, if you wanted to have a residential campus where a lot of students live in the dorms, UF might not be the school for you.
I would help with your other schools, but I really don't know much about them.

I hear pre-med is really cut-throat at Berkeley and that all of the pre-med classes are crowded with really smart and driven asian kids who will do better than you no matter how hard you try. but, maybe you're one of those kids, so...

What I do know:
If you're from out of state, Cal is freaking expensive. It would be equivalent to going to a private. If you're not from in state, it may not be worth the cost consdering you're getting a "public" education at the cost of a private.
In my opinion, Cal is more known for their Engineering.
What I hear:
The UC system is so overwhelmed that it is simply ridiculous. Classes are huge. You're simply one of the many. It is hard to get to know the professors ect.
