Okay...since I decided that I have way too much free time on my hands, I added up everyone rankings based on the system I described in my previous post. Basically, the number 1 school gets 1 pt, number 2 gets 2 pts, etc. If a person only cites one school, that school gets 1 pt and the rest get 2 pts. Easy enough. So I added up everyone's rankings and came up with the following, with total points in parentheses:

1) Yale (106)
2) Brown (119)
3) Princeton (121)
4) Harvard (124)
5) Columbia (133)
6) Dartmouth (137)
7) Penn (140)
8) Cornell (154)

The school with the lowest points gets the no.1 ranking because, the higher it is placed on one person's ranking, the lower the number of points that school gets. These results only include everyone's replies through gprime. If anyone doubts that I actually did something wrong here or skewed the data, here is the actual data, with the last number being the total number of points:

Interesting results, I think. Though this is a fairly small sample, I'm surprised that Yale is this popular so far, no offense to Yale of course, but there's a huge gap between #1 Yale (106 pts.) and #2 Brown (119 pts.). Yale seems to be way ahead of the pack so far. Brown, Princeton, and Harvard are all very close to one another in terms of points at slots 2,3, and 4. Columbia, Dartmouth, and Penn are also very close to each other at slots 5, 6, and 7. Cornell has 154 pts (14 pts behind Penn) at slot 8.

Again, this is completely subjective. If you're not interested, don't reply. I'm not trying to fuel any fires here. Just trying to have some fun and see how much people actually like each Ivy. I'll update these numbers periodically.

Okay I just took into account the last two posters (classof09 is the last poster taken into account for the following data). They only changed the rankings slightly, with Brown and Princeton now being tied for 2nd and Dartmouth and Columbia switching places. THE LAST NUMBER IN EACH ROW IS THE TOTAL NUMBER OF POINTS, LOWEST NUMBER MEANS HIGHEST RANKING:

The last column (#1's) refers to the number of times the school has been ranked #1 by a CC poster on this thread. It is interesting to note, then, that Harvard is the only school to not have been ranked #1 by any poster on this thread. Brown (11 times) and Yale (10 times) lead the pack.

I hate how Brown is so popular -- it means more competition. Hopefully this isn't representative of the real applying population -- only the CC sub group.
