You could not pay me enough money to stay in Connecticut. There are good schools here for sure: Yale, Wesleyan, Trinity, UCONN, Quinnipiac, Fairfield...
but tooooo close to home.
I can't even apply to a state school for a financial safety because they don't have international relations programs.

UW-Madison is the only option for me at wisconsin. I want to go there but got Postponed....But I live in Miwalukee and hate it with a passion but dont know if I can afford OOS. Im praying to god to get the hell out of this town!!!

whoever said they want to get out of Florida - agreed! i applied to UF as a financial safety, but it's very hard to see myself happy there (crazy sports obsessions annoy me A LOT, and i'm not at all into partying or greek life) - the other thing is, going anywhere in florida would be like a continuation of high school (which i like, but is its own chapter).

and though you might think florida weather is great, think again. it's nice sometimes, but when it is 80 degrees on christmas day, it's not. at all. (i've heard that people get depressed because it's so overcast in the north in the winter - believe it or not, the sun can have the same effect after awhile). yay for getting out of state!!!

I need to get out of San Diego. I was born and raised here, and I know there's so much more out there for me. I still have a preference for California though. Gotta love the coast. Despite all this, I still applied to SDSU and UCSD. :x But they're my last resorts.

Tayelim: How would you rate the schools in San Diego? I was considering applying to USD, is it good?

Schools in San Diego are great. UCSD - perfect for them science and poli sci/international relations people (becuz of the grad school). Overall, the campus is ugly. USD - okay buildings, great school, private (top notch academics)

I'm so glad I'm getting out of Florida. Hello Massachusetts! I can't wait to see the seasons change. Florida, especially south Florida, has one season: summer. It's not that bad, I guess, but I would love to experience something new. Plus, Florida universities don't offer what I want. I'm not that big into greek life nor sports, and that's all every single school seems to revolve around. While I do live about a stone's throw away from UM (it's a really good school, I know) going there (or FIU) would involve seeing about 90% of the people I already know. College is a time to experience new things, meet new people, etc etc..

I agree. I could understand wishing to be where it was maybe 40 or something during the winter, but wishing to be anywhere below freezing is insane.

All you fellow Californians who say you want to leave the state...you know you can stay in state but be 7-8 hours from home. That's what I'm doing. And, that way, I can hop on a plane and be home in an hour.

I applied to the college that's like 5 minutes from my house (Cal State Long Beach), but it's really not an option...more a safety than anything.

I love the area I'm from, but I'm NOT going to University of Maryland, College Park, because tons of people from my HS go there... and college is a place where you go to get away from high school, dammit!
