It's a nice list, but I had recommend against applying to schools just because they're free. This is your future we're talking about. Saving money on applications is a nice sentiment, but in the long run.

Some of you all on here are being inconsiderate. There are some families who still struggle, although they don't qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch or Fee Waivers. Those are some of the families that get hit hard with this stuff. So stop calling people foolish etc. because they WANT to go to college and they are inquiring about ways to go for as little cost as possible.
Not everyone is in your class. I'm sick of it.

*Deep Springs College (CA) - free to apply & attend, recently made co-ed
| They've recently announced that they're planning to become co-ed. Last I heard, they haven't announced when they'll actually implement it.
It seems like quite an interesting program, but definitely not in my element.

Here's a tip:
If you plan to apply to the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, first apply the their Dearborn campus online. This online application is free and the Ann Arbor campus waives the fee for anyone who has already applied to one of their other campuses. Save yourself $65 (Dearborn does not even require an essay!)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it previously, but Florida Institute of Technology is free to apply to.

You apply to the Ann Arbor campus via the CA but to apply to Dearborn you use their website. There is a box to check on Michigan's part of the CA asking if you have ever applied to another one of their campuses.

@megz4252 Doesn't that still mean you need to pay an extra fee in order to send in your ACT scores there?

Hello,
I'm an American citizen living in Bangladesh. Due to my financial condition, I'm having to apply at community colleges. I'm looking for community colleges in California which don't require application fees. I know community college application fees aren't quite much, but it would make my life a lot easier if I could apply for free at some CCCs. I'm already having a hard time getting the money for mailing the applications through courier. I'll totally be depending on FAFSA and Pell Grant once I get to USA. I know these schools have a good transfer record to UCLA and UC Berkeley: Santa Monica, Pasadena City C, Orange Coast, Diablo valley, Orange Coast, East Los Angeles C and one or two others I can't remember. Do all of these require application fees? You'll probably tell me to check on each college's website, which I will. But I would really appreciate it if you guys gave me a list of schools (in addition to the ones mentioned, which don't require application fees and are good for transferring to UCLA and other top schools).
Thank you
