| Strong Bus. and Poly Sci Schools
Hey, I'm a white male from Massachusetts and currently a junior at a fairly competitive college. I'm looking for a college within new england or within 4 hours of cental mass. The college has to have both a strong business program and a fairly strong poly sci program. I'll give some stats just for suggestions. Can't be in Vermont, too cold, even for me. I prefer smaller to mid sized schools. Have Providence, Merrimack, St. Anselms, U Scranton, Stonehill, Quinnipiac in mind, but always open minded
Academics
3.3 UW/ 3.7 W
SATs will hopefully be in the 1800's or so.

Secretary of choir 07

Model UN: won honorable mention at MIT two years in a row
Part of 2 volunteer groups
Church bassist/lecturer
Taught CCD
Treasurer of class
Has a walk team to cure diabetes and has raised over 50,000 in 3 years.

Mrobb, I have heard a number of positive things about the College of Saint Rose located in Albany. Another school to maybe consider would be Siena which is also located in the Albany area.

Thanks poi. Is Sienna a really rural campus or just suburban? I've heard ST. Roses is on a fairly urban campus, is that true? Thanks a lot for the suggestions. All suggestions are welcomed.

Mrobb, Siena is located in the suburbs and I think St. Rose is located in more of an urban area.

Thanks a loIt poi'll definetly talk to my parents about those places. My dad also recommended Bryant. I guess it has both a college of business and a college of liberal arts, which could be great considering business and poly sci are what I'm driven to do. Anyone know anything about Smithfield? All I know is that its 15 mins from Providence and 45 mins. from Boston and Worcester.

World changer, I'd love to go to either one of those places, but D.C is too far away for my parents and with my diabetes, its understandable. My cousins graduated from American and loved it, but I don't think mom and dad would be up for it. Thanks a lot, though.

Mrobb, how about Fordham? Its a great school and has a very strong business program. Would it be too far? Also, Bryant is supposed to have a good business program.

I would love to look at Fordham, but I know my parents aren't big on having me in a huge city. I personally think I would like Fordham and will ask about, I'm just unsure on their reaction. I also think it would be a big reach because their unweighted is around a 3.7. I do hear that they have an awesome campus though and I'll definetly ask.

Anyone have an ideas for a safer school for me? I'm always worried about having to many reaches. I looked into Manhattanville in Purchase, NY and that also seems like a nice school that I could get into, but I don't know about business. But I'm definetly in need of some safer options.

Honestly...I think you need to worry a little bit less about what your parents think. It's important to hear their viewpoints, certainly, but this is about your happiness.

I know a couple who attends SUNY Bing, and they say they have a fantastic liberal arts/business program. Not really sure how far SUNY Bing is from your location though.
