USC Marshall VS. NYU Stern

I just recently got accepted into USC and NYU, both for undergraduate. I am majoring in business/finance so I would be going to their business schools. I am not taking into account proximity to home or cost, so please can I get some opinions on which I should choose.

Congratulations on your acceptances.

I would say that NYU Stern is better known nationally, although that is up for argument. However, NYU Stern would definitely be better preparation for a career in finance or investment banking. It has a much better location, and you are more likely to get recruited.

go to NYU.

I realize this isn't helpful at all, but I kind of hate you for getting to make that choice.

I want to go to Stern so bad. I suppose I'll find out in 8 and a half months.

well I still want to get the whole college experience, and I feel like USC will get me that. What bugs me about NYU is that it really doesn't have a campus and the dorms aren't all that nice and they don't really do sports or anything like that while USC is like the pinnacle of nice campus and parties and all that

well, if it's a traditional college experience you want, USC is a better choice.

I know a couple of kids at USC, all of them love it. a lot.
you really can't go wrong.

If you want to end up working in LA, go to USC. If you want to end up working in NY, go to NYU. If you don't know where you want to end up working, decide where you want to go to school in LA or New York City. They are hugely different. You must know which you prefer.

stern has better recruiting in nyc, wall street, etc. it also is the top of its field in fiance. but, usc has better social life and better sports. pick the school based on your preference, but, academically, stern has an edge.

Go to the one that gives you better aid. NYU isn't known for being generous with aid.

If you want to work in New York, I'd recommend NYU. It's just common sense to go to school, do internships, whatever where you want to end up working. I think there is a BIG potential advantage, if you want to work in LA area, to going to USC.

well i got 5300 a semester @ NYu, but money isnt going to be a deciding factor for me. I do what to end up living/working in ny, but i if i want to nyu i feel like i would be missing out on the college lifestyle that is present at sc but not at nyu

Sounds to me like you really want to go to USC. In that case, go to USC, just try to keep in contact with New York if possible. Try to do summer internships if you can. But don't be surprised if at the end of the day you end up living and working in LA. ;-)

Go to USC. They have much better campus life (D1 sports, a campus, parties), and it seems like that's important to you. And the business program is really good with a strong alumni network.
