Choosing a college for parents or self

Anyone attending college for parent bragging rights? I know a number of kids scared to death that probably aren't ready to attend ivies and east coast schools because of their parents. Are there alot out there like that? I heard there is a high percentage of kids that go home during their first year because they can't handle it; like 30-40%? True or not?

It's not true at any of the Ivies, or at MIT. They all have far higher retention rates than 60-70%.
