Honors Program at BC and Freshman Science Honors Program at USC

After numerous days of discussion with my parents and mentors around me, I have decided to go to Berkeley for pre-med (I know it's weird). However, I have a question about these special programs at these two universities.

I know that both are not as fancy as extremely good undergraduate programs at various universities, but I wanted to know what are the advantages I could get from these programs.

One is Honors Program at Boston College and another one is Freshman Science Honors Program at USC. Both are intended for students in College of Arts and Science. I read their descriptions several times, but they seem very vague.. Can anyone help me ?
