christian - maybe west coast - business

i am only a sopohmore, but what colleges are christian, probably on the west coast, especially ca, and have a good business program. i dont want an ultra republican texas school. something more liberal, and not something super strict, like you have to attend church and stuff. also with a good undergrad business program

far a uc gpa of 3.3-4 about and 1900 sats and pretty good everything else, where would i be looking at? i just want to apply to a few christian colleges. ideas? thanks.

Pepperdine came to mind for me too but there is a (somewhat flexible) "convocation" requirement. Also University of Santa Clara (requires religion classes but I don't recall if they require Church attendance); Jesuit, not "Christian" if you can appreciate that distinction (and if you do, you probably know some form of religious services will likely be part of any school that calls itself "Christian"). Other favorites at my D's Christian High School are Biola, Azuza Pacific, and Westmont, but I don't know about their Business programs and they are probably "stricter".

Sign up and check here if you can, for admitted student statistics.

SAT Registration - SAT Scores - College Search - College Admissions - Scholarships

A couple of references
Amazon.com: All-American Colleges: Top Schools for Conservatives, Old-Fashioned Liberals, and People of Faith: John Zmirak: Books
Amazon.com: 440 COLLEGES FOR TOP STUDENTS 2008 (440 Colleges for Top Students): Peterson's: Books

Of the three, Pepperdine might be the least " Christian", but still conservative. Beyond "getting in", they really appeal to a specific type of student (or parent). Why we you looking for "Christian" schools? No offense, but it doesn't sound like "you".

Pepperdine isn't ultra-conservative. Most Christian schools will be more conservative than average, but I wouldn't say Pepperdine is moreso than other Christian schools. Plus, their business program(especially international business) is good and improving.

Claremont is also amazing too, especially if you are into the international aspect of things.

Of the "real" Christian schools Biola University has the best business program. Biola just built a brand new business building in 2007 and nearly 1/4 of their students are business majors. However, Biola is very serious about the integration of their curriculum and faith. Chapel attendance of some sort is required 15 times per semester. If your idea of college is getting smashed and having sex with lots of hot freshman Biola is NOT the place for you. If you want a Christian school that has SOME Christian heritage but where secular students still outnumber Christians then Pepperdine is your best bet. If you can't get in to Pepperdine then try Azusa Pacific, although every year APU looks less and less like a Christian University and more and more like a normal private LAC. Of course, this is a similar concern with Pepperdine.

I'm confused about what your needs are from a Christian college. What is it that you hope to get from a specifically Christian University? If you tell me that I might be able to give you more targeted advice.

USD and Santa Clara both have business schools ranked in the Top 50, though I'm not quite sure if you would get in, but it might be worth a try.

USD, Santa Clara and many of the schools being offered up in this thread aren't even Christian schools. Being founded by Christians (like, for instance, USC) and being a Christian University (like Wheaton or Biola) are two TOTALLY different things.
