Something called slang, juststoppingby?

I know it's supposed to be "personally." Jeez. Hm, in retrospect, maybe I should've rephrased it as: "Nothing personal." Whatever.

ANOTHER one of my pet peeves is verbosity. You could've just said the grammatically correct solution in a concise, single sentence.

Oh, and I never even mentioned my personal preference/perception of which one is more prestigious; to me, subjectively speaking, I see Stanford as more prestigious than Columbia, though it's probably equally difficult to get into either school.

Would it be wrong to say that Stanford's campus looks like the most magnificent and ambitious Taco Bell ever? Probably, so I won't.

You think so? I think it sounds like it could be some developing country with a huge drug trafficking problem.

I never said Columbia was more prestigious. They are both equal, but my last comment was directed at those who think Stanford is better, and many people think this because of the rankings.

I'm from a major east coast city, and I would say that, in my experience, most people think that Stanford is more prestigious Columbia. I mean, Columbia is thought of as a good school, but most people put Stanford on a whole other level (w/ MIT, Harvard, Yale, Princeton).

Stanford is more prestigious in my book. Stanford does everything as well as Columbia does, but its engineering/ Comupter Science trumps Columbia. The access to Silicon Valley Companies and firms (VC) only adds to its appeal.

Stanford is more prestigious.

It is not a dumb question. Prestige matters- and depending on what you want to do (and where you want to do it), it can be quite an important factor.

Though they are both extremely good institutions, there is still a difference at this level.

Some of you just need to unclench with the typo-anal rants. If a post offends you this much; don't post in the thread.
