| thanks for the reply about the status on JHU's neuroscience program coolguy....
and by the way, it is not my father's 'contacts'... im the one who personally met with the deans and doctors of certain universities... i took initiative to get the fellowship by applying to multiple hospitals around the world... i set up my own resume, and used my hard earned money from DJing to travel and meet with important faculty members of universities...
im not a spoiled kid... i come from a average income family... do u think my father has time to initiate contacts... he has to work... he immigrated to this country with multiple degrees only to be neglected by the western culture because they thought his degree in economics was not up to par with their standards....
i dont need someone to do my work... i took my future into my own hands...
so next time you compare me to a white family where the father has 'contacts'... you should re think that... i am not book nerd.. i went to all the interviews and promoted myself.... that is called commitment and passion to go to great schools and enter a great field... and meeting the professors of that field... |

| The largest neuroscience research center in the world is at MIT. It has virtually unlimited opportunities for undergrads to participate in advanced research. The majority of the students in the program are premed. MIT : Brain and Cognitive Sciences
BTW, mental health is a big issue for MSF as many of the populations they serve deal with post-traumatic stress following conflicts or dealing with HIV/AIDS. | |

| yah i was thinking it was either MIT or JHU... id probably fit more into JHU... thats because of the nice philosophy courses they have and their own radio station (Cuz i DJ professionally) | |

| essentially i wanna end up in neurosurgery... and JHU is number 1 in neurosurgical sciences.... so its a bonus in that fact... i would so love to meet Dr. Ben Carson- a role model to me that is practicing at JHH as head of pediatric neurosurgery | |

That's true - the demand for mental health counselors is immense. (I actually work to help fund one program - African Great Lakes Initiative: Helping to create a more peaceful future in Africa ) But it has nothing to do with neuroscience docs, who would be virtually useless in Burundi. | |
