hi guys, I got accepted into University of San Diego(USD),University of Miami(8,000), and Pace University in NY ($13,000 scholarship). I want to study Business. I like to go to San Diego, but I heard some issues in USD recently (USD: Public Safety: Campus Alert) which makes me concerned about the campus safety. Also, I dont know much about USD academics, do they have good professors? I wonders which one of these school should I go? Is there anyone know about those schools? please give me some opinions?

I'd go with Pace. They've got a good business program.
I'm a Pace graduate (English Communications). My brother is a gradudate of Pace (BS and MBA). He's in his mid-forties, retired, and set for life. My husband is also a Pace business school graduate.

A few questions to help us help you.

- Which Pace branch are you considering? The one in Westchester or the one in NYC?

- Where do you currently live?

-Where do you see yourself working after college?

- What level of challenge are you seeking in your college coursework? Do you want/need to be around peers who have similar academic accomplishments as you?

- If you don't end up majoring in business, what are some other areas you might be interested in studying?

- Do you have a particular concentration within business that you're thinking of majoring in (i.e., marketing, accounting, finance, operations management)?

- How would you describe yourself? How would you describe your closest friends in high school? Are you looking to hang out with similar people in college, or branch out a bit? Are there any types of people that are a total turn-off to you?

- How do you feel about attending a religiously-affiliated university? Are you Catholic?

- How do you picture yourself spending your weekends in college?

Really, since no one here *knows* you at all, any advice we give shouldn't be the sole reason for your final decision. But, if you consider these questions, talk about them with people who DO know you in real life, and use them as a framework for comparing the three choices you have, you will probably start to be able to more clearly see the differences between the schools.

However, the USD campus is as safe as any campus, perhaps more so in some ways. Academics are solid.

But, of the three schools, Miami probably has the biggest national name reputation, while Pace and USD are more regionally recognized (although USD is becomming better known each year).

And, just for comparison's sake, here's how the student body academic stats and selectivity of these three schools compare i(note these data are from 2006, so numbers may have changed slightly). I'll let you draw your own conclusions from the numbers themselves:

Pace: 72% acceptance rate, 19% of enrolled students were in the top 10% of their high school class, average high school GPA: 3.2, 25-75th percentile math and reading SAT combined: 977-1177

University of San Diego: 60% acceptance rate, 41% of enrolled students in the top 10% of their high school, average high school GPA: 3.7, 25-75th percentile math and reading SAT combined: 1080-1280

University of Miami: 46% admissions rate, 62% of enrolled students in top 10%, average high school GPA: 4.0, 25-75th percentile math and reading combined: 1160-1360

Actually,I am studying at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania ( where I felt depressed). The school is a small private and no reputation school, but super expensive ( $35,000/y). I got no scholarship or anything, so I want to transfer to better school at least with the price i paid at albright.

I want to study Accounting and Marketing. I got accepted in Pace University( at NYC campus).
I want to go to a school with good Undergaduate business programs, but also in a nice place. I means it would be nice if the academic is challenging and have a lot of good professors. Because I wanna go to graduate school later (hopefully Ivy League school)
I like to go to bigger school than my current college, where i can meet more people.
i care more about academics, but also like to have fun.
Oh, I have no religion. But it doesn't matter as long as USD has good academic.
It is so hard to make a decision. I know i still prefer USD and Miami than Pace.
I need to fiugre where I am gonna be soon though. Because Miami is not waiting for me. They said they will give scholarship to someone else if I don't decide at the end of May.
Also, I applied to Santa Clara University too, but still haven't heard from them. They take so long.
Hopefully, I will make a right choice.

I live in San Diego and can tell you that the USD campus is BEAUTIFUL but its not in the best area (like most colleges). I have two teachers that are proud alumni of USD and said they loved it.
Now I have a question about Pace; it seems like a very business-forward school just set in a few buildings, and as though it wouldn't offer the typical "college" experience of athletics and parties, etc. Is it true?
