U of Rochester is fantastic for the sciences and has a great medical program. Ohio State U is a solid state university. Boston U is known for its internship opportunities because of its location. I can't say much about F&M or MSU.

I'd say that Boston and Rochester are the ones with the best reputations.

F&M is the smallest of the group at under 2,000. It is historically strong in the Sciences and Political Science though I would not want to slight any other departments.

It naturally provides much smaller classes and personal attention compared to the others which are large research universities.

Note: Boston U, Ohio state, and Michigan State are LARGE colleges. Ohio and Mich also have a lot of emphasis on football.
