GoBlue—no luck….CDS is well hidden somewhere. Couldn’t find a factbook either. Here’s a few less than satisfying info sources, but you’ve probably seen these already.

Class profile:
http://admissions.kzoo.edu/admissions/classprofile.asp

Graduation rates:
http://www.kzoo.edu/regist/gradrates.htm

General catalog:
http://www.kzoo.edu/regist/catalog/cat0506/catalog.pdf

K-zoo looks like a nice place.

Adelphi University CDS

They are on this page:
http://administration.adelphi.edu/orap/facts.shtml

Links to the 2002, 2003 and 2004 CDS are posted.

(Searching for "common data set" on the Adelphi U web site didn't find them. Then I searched "Institutional Research" and that brought me to the ORAP page http://administration.adelphi.edu/orap/home.shtml then I clicked the "Adelphi Facts" link on that page to get to where the CDS was posted.)

They also mention a Databook that is available on request from ORAP. http://administration.adelphi.edu/orap/databooks.shtml

Quote:
Databooks

Adelphi’s databooks, published annually since the 1999 edition, provide a wealth of information about Adelphi’s students, faculty, finances, and comparisons to other schools. Hard copies of the databook are available on request from ORAP.

The databooks are divided into 14 sections or chapters.

* Introduction
* New Student Enrollment
* New Student Enrollment Trends
* Enrollment
* Enrollment Trends
* Special Population Trends
* Degrees Granted
* Degrees Granted Trends
* Retention and Graduation Trends
* Financial Aid
* Courses
* Faculty
* Finance and Administration
* National Comparisons

Papa Chicken:

Regarding the 6 year graduation rate for the Adelphi U class entering Fall 1998. http://www.adelphi.edu/about/facts.php
Quote:
Retention and Graduation Rates

1998 six-year regular admit graduation rate 59.8%
2003 one-year regular admit retention rate 81.6%
Adelphi went thru a tough time in the early 1990's resulting in the removal of Peter Diamandopoulos, the President of the University, and the Board of Trustees by the New York State Board of Regents. This was an action virtually without precedent, The Regents acted to halt the alleged looting of the University by Diamandopoulos and the Trustees.

Links to Law suits to recover money allegedly misappropriated by then President Peter Diamandopoulos and the Board of Trustees
http://www.courts.state.ny.us/comdiv...1998/vacco.htm
http://www.courts.state.ny.us/comdiv...98/adelphi.htm
Quote:
Diamandopoulos was the President of Adelphi from 1985 to 1997. In 1996, the New York State Board of Regents ("Regents") conducted hearings on a petition which alleged that Diamandopoulos, along with the other Trustees, were guilty of neglect of duty, misconduct and failure to carry out the educational purposes of Adelphi. The report found that all but one recently appointed Trustee had breached their fiduciary duties to Adelphi, in, inter alia, granting a compensation package to Diamandopoulos which was excessive. The Regents removed Diamandopoulos and 17 others as Trustees of the University, and appointed 18 new Trustees. At the first meeting of the new Board of Trustees, Diamandopoulos was also removed as president of Adelphi.

The New Adelphi Board of Trustees, appointed by the NYS Board of Regents, has been working to improve the University. In 2000 Dr. Robert Scott became President and has been doing a great job in restoring the University. http://administration.adelphi.edu/president/
Quote:
Dr. Robert A. Scott was appointed by the Adelphi University Board of Trustees as the ninth president and professor of anthropology and sociology in July 2000. He has built on Adelphi's rich traditions in undergraduate and graduate education and continues to link the liberal arts and sciences with professional programs. He has been the driving force behind the success Adelphi University has achieved in the past four years. Undergraduate enrollment has increased by 43 percent since September 2000. To support the increase in students, more than 140 new faculty have been hired, with 34 in fall 2003 and 42 in fall 2004. The University recently completed its first new residence hall in 36 years to accommodate growing student demand. Alumni giving has risen by nearly 620 percent. In recent years, the University has received several million-dollar gifts, the largest in its history.
I think that the 6 year graduation rates will improve dramatically under the current University Leadership.

alas rich, I normally search "institutional research", but missed that one. I never knew all of this about Adelpi. I observe that if an institution can survive such an upset, it usually always comes out stronger & better.

I've been all over the internet looking for GPA data...it seems to be the most unreported stat...but it's the most important...what's the big deal with colleges hiding average GPAs?

Actually, I think it is the high schools that don't want to report GPA's or class rank.
