opera and musical theater programs

Which universities have the best music departments which are strong in both operatic and musical theater training?
I realize that there is no official list, but I'd like to know what you've heard about the different programs and why certain ones are better than others.
I ask for both opera and musical theater because I have yet to decide which one I'm going to focus on, so a school that has both and room to explore would be fantastic.
Thanks!

Try posting this in the Music Forum. I assume you are looking to get a BM in vocal performance? ASU (Tempe) has a very strong and competitive vocal performance program wherein you can get a BM in musical theater and study with the same faculty who teach in the opera program. Classical voice students have recently placed very well in the MONC auditions and I know of one recent student who was in the original Broadway cast of Spring Awakening. OCU (Oklahoma) comes to mind as well. You will find plenty of other recs in the music forum.
