UC Irvine vs Santa Clara Uni... Where should my son attend?

My son has been accepted to both UCI and Santa Clara for engineering. Both are great schools but completely different. Does anyone have any information on which school will provide a better education and opportunities after graduation.

The advantage of Santa Clara is that it is right in Silicon Valley. That will provide a lot of potential job opportunities. I think UCI is the "better" university and offers more options overall. I would try to visit both campuses and make a decision based on money, interest, etc.

I have a similar question regarding Santa Clara.
My son is trying to choose between Santa Clara U and UCSD, UCLA, UCSB and SUNY-StonyBrook. (He's been waitlisted for Cornell) He will be majoring in BioChemistry/Pre-med. Which university will give him a greater chance of getting into a top medical school?

definitely UCLA, he will have a great undergrad experience and the opportunity to get internships due to the prominent med school there

I know the Cal States use a more practical approach for teaching engineering vs. the UCs. I'm not sure where Santa Clara fits.
