Accepted & Attending?

Are you accepted and attending or is CSU high on your list?

If so, what is your intended major?

I'm most likely going to be attending. I've lived in Fort Collins my whole life and just attended a campus tour this morning to gain a new perspective of the school. It was definitely beneficial in helping my decision.

I've already been accepted into the technical journalism program and am going to minor in French.

What do you like best about CSU, what concerns do you have?

There seems little money, so for OOS students it is tough. I would be interested in how the community views the school and the student body.

Thanks for posting.

I like the city and the fact that I know quite a few people who go there now or will be going next year. I've also heard of a couple people who have gone to other colleges but have transferred back to CSU, which is a good sign. I think my decision is very much based on comfort.

My biggest concern is the class size of certain core classes, like math. I know I will be needing outside help since it's not a very strong subject for me.

I know that CSU is well received by the community, but for my peers there's more mixed feelings. Some just want to get out and experience a change of pace but some just apply to CSU and live at home and also maybe apply to another nearby university like UNC in Greeley. The people who choose to stay and go to CSU aren't necessarily unable to attend a more prestigious school; they may just find it more of a comforting atmosphere as well.

By the way, I added a college visit report that you can check out.

So, as an update, I will be attending CSU for sure this fall. I'm stoked, but it looks like no one else on CC is. I'm a little disappointed.

Don't be. The CC community is fairly coastal and/or prestige oriented. Mt. state kids must have better things to do. My Boston-bred D is at CU and very happy. D2 will visit CSU this month.

drb, let me know how D2's visit goes and if she decides to attend. I'm already looking forward to meeting new people, especially those from out of state!

SW234-
There is a grid somewhere on the CSU site that lists what GPA & test score compilation you need to give you an admittance index. Do a search of their site and you should find it easily.

Yes, it's called the CCHE Index.

I heard back within two months. I even forgot to fill out a whole form on the common app (which I didn't realize until they contacted me) and procrastinated with calling the admissions office.
