I'm in the Honors program at CSU, and I do feel it's worthwhile. It certainly doesn't interfere with a social life, and I feel as though I've gotten a lot out of it. There are two ways of doing honors at CSU. Track 1 requires you to take a certain number of seminar classes (4 I think) that are exclusive to honors students and fulfill a lot of core requirements. Track 2 is for people who do honors later in college or come in with a lot of core requirements completed, and require only a certain number of upper division honors courses, which can be taught with a breakout section of honors students or taught as an honors lecture. I'm in track 2, so I definitely know more about that portion of honors at CSU. Both programs require you to complete a thesis, regardless of your major, although this can be different than a traditional thesis. Being in the honors program allows you to register for classes earlier, take honors classes, and also includes a separate scholarship. Let me know if you want to know anything more!
