| dude, you can take Walking if you're really hardcore about avoiding exercise.
But I should say - growing up, there are a lot of people at Columbia who focused on intellectual pursuits to the exclusion of athletics. but Columbia is a very nonjudgmental place about that sort of thing. If you're uncoordinated but want to get in shape or learn something (like yoga or karate or volleyball), this is the place and time to do it.
Sign up for something that sounds fun, and on the first day of PE classes (which isn't till the 2nd week of school), check a few of them out. you can switch if you want, they're very flexible. |

| There are a couple things you can take that don't require you to break a sweat -- I think CPR and that sort of thing. |

| you should keep in mind that the only thing you're graded on in PE is attendance and/or participation. http://www.columbia.edu/cu/bulletin/..._Fall2007.html
there's a lot of options. i'm sure you can find something you like. |

| You can't fail. If you don't make the required number of classes (you can miss 6 classes / semester), they'll just give you an incomplete and make you go to some other class sometime next semester until you pass. |

| I climb rocks for my physical activities but I didn't think Columbia would have a full fledged climbing gym or boulders in the middle of streets to climb on. |
