John Jay kitchenettes

I heard these only have microwaves. Do they have anything else at all? Sinks? Drawers? Toaster? Kettle?

Could you bring a toaster or George Foreman grill and plug it in/leave it there?

Sink and Microwave.

And I think only rice cookers and coffemakers are allowed in kitchens.

Here's a list of things you cant' have:

Note that George Foreman grill is on there. But it would really depend on a) whether or not you set off the fire alarm and b) whether or not your RA actually cares.

A kettle should be fine.

your RA will most likely NOT care. You could put a toaster or kettle in the kitchenette and leave them there....can't promise you it'll stay there or stay intact though.

As for the foreman, you do NOT need one freshman year, especially in JJ where you are in the same building as the dining hall and JJ's place....the dining plan you get will provide you with ample food that you won't need to make anything that big. (you can even take food from the dining hall and store it for later). But if you don't take my advice and do bring one i suggest you keep that in your room and bring it to the kitchen when you want to use it though I think using it in a JJ kitchenette is a bad idea since it has no windows or air vents like real kitchens with stoves in other dorms do.
