| Reality check, please?
Who's going to give up any single -- let alone a Furnald single -- to move into a Carmen double? To make matters worse, you probably have a crappy roommate if you're so anxious to move -- and that makes your swap even less appealing. |

| The demand for freshman Furnald singles WAY exceeds the supply. A frosh in a Furnald single knew (or should have known) what he was getting into. If such a frosh is really unhappy, why would they move to a Carmen double w/ a likely ****ty roommate of all things. |

| He should be realistic about this. If he wants to swap, he needs to consider what he's bringing to the table and accordingly broaden what he's willing to take. |

| actually my roomate is pretty nice. it's just I like more privacy and I'm antisocial so..... I don't really like being around with people. Carman was like my last choice when I apply housing; however, I was end up with it so...probably because i was waitlisted and i got in and apply for housing much later than anybody else. |

this might have been different in your time, but right now carman for first years is where everyone wants to be, furnald is where people don't want to be, because it's more difficult to make friends in furnald. so moving out of carman would be giving up the best option, the frosh that rabidly apply to carman and wish they lived there still exceeds the space.

ok if your roomy was perfect, you clearly wouldn't be moving out, so what is wrong with him/her? it's silly to pretend like you giving up an excellent deal, even if you are, noone will believe you, so come up with some disadvantages like 'she smells bad' or 'he plays loud rock' or 'smokes up in the room' or 'throws parties' or 'sleeps until dusk' or 'bathes forever', list these disadvantages (and advantages if you want) and someone will read them and decide whether he or she is happy living with your roomy. Also specify gender, it's obnoxious for a bunch of girls to fall in love your roomy and wish to go to carman and realize you're a guy or vice versa. |

carman people don't usually want to be in furnald, that might be true, according to housing (asked during orientation my year while sorting out some housing issues) furnald is stil the hardest to fill. although the funny thing is that on the housing application your choice actually don't matter that much(putting jj as first choice doesn't garantee you in there even if it happened to be the leasted demanded) , they'll take it into consideration when they "place" you (gawd knows how they do that now). -.-'' |
