Provisional admittance/awaiting grades

So I applied for ED Fall 2011. I'm currently enrolled in four courses at another university. I'm wondering if anyone has been in my situation, and has been informed by GS that they've either been provisionally admitted, or that they will make a decision once you've completed the semester. If so, how did they reach out to you, and what were the specifics of the situation?

Any information would be great. Thanks!

I'm not sure about this but don't be afraid to reach out to admissions with any concerns you may have. If I'm not mistaken, this is what they do with everyone, right?

Can someone else chime in?

I spoke to admissions. They say that the app will be reviewed. But in the event thAt you are accepted then they will require your final grades. So make them shine

I am in your situation. When I checked my application on-line, my latest transcript stated "Provisional/Pending." Your most recent transcript is provisional because you are simply in the process of taking courses at your institution. They will review your application if all else is is completed even though your most recent transcript states "Provisional/Pending." If they need anything else during the decision process, they usually will email you with what they need and ask if you can fax or mail it to their office. If you have a solid application, you will be conditionally accepted and notified by mail. From there you mail them your final transcript for final review and speak to William Bailey to discuss your limited financial aid opportunities that await you.

When I check my application status, under my current college it also says provisional/pending. So I emailed the school to make sure that they received my transcript. I received an email back saying that they have it, and everything's ok. They write that about any transcripts that are in progress at the moment, and it doesn't affect your acceptance. If they'll accept you, you'll just have to send them the new transcript with spring 2011 grades. Maybe if your GPA is not good enough for them, they want to wait to see how you did this semester and base their decision on that...? I'm not sure, but this would make sense... Anyway, good luck everyone!

Yes GS told me that if your currently taking courses, they can either provisionally admit you or let you know they'll wait until you get your final grades to make a decision. that was my real question here - but it sounds like they'll just email you. I wonder if they do this when they begin sending out acceptance letters, before, or after....anyone have any experience?

I have had my transcripts in for quite some time now and it has always said final transcript.
Is the OP saying that he got a provisional letter in the mail/email, or just that when he/she checks their application status it says provisional next to the transcript?

Okay I just was confused and thought that some had actually received a provisional acceptance. Good luck to everyone!

I'm taking 4 classes right now Liz, but I believe they are all showing on my transcript as classes being taken.
