Can't help the innate southern hospitality...
Well, stay safe sweetie; perhaps we will be class mates come August.

Alright mates...grades are in for semester! Time for some bi-annual bragging rights.

4 A's and a B in Honors Ea. Am. Hist. I'm up 0.018 points to a cum. 3.712! A bit geeky I know, but after graduating from HS with barely a 2.0, I feel like a top dog right now...

How'd everyone else fare? (If you're currently enrolled.)

Ugh, horrid. 4 A's but Honors Calc ruined my 4.0 with an A-. Down to a 3.97 :'(. Mind you I've got to distract the adcoms as much as possible away from my chaos years at my other community college. Got out of there with a measly 2.67 gpa... Totally different major now, but still, I need all the upward trend I can get!

I wouldn't worry at all about an A-. Now if it was a C-, sure, maybe worry. They won't care at all.

EDIT: Unless you're just trolling

lol not trollin'... It's just that bubble that you get into when you've carried a perfect 4.0 for 2 semesters already and then get it popped by one stickler of a professor in the hardest class you've got with an stupid A-...

Anyway, I just hope the idea still gets across that I'm a new person and a vastly superior student now than I have been historically.

Perhaps you could discuss the grade with the professor and seek a change, if your very worried about it. Sometimes professors can be completely different people during office hours, and if the points were close enough, s/he may be a little forgiving.
I suppose I'm lucky, my cc does flat grades, not +/-'s.
Silver lining: At least it wasn't a B.

I'm applying! I have no idea what my chances are, though. I'll be 30 this spring and I have long breaks in my educational history. My cumulative GPA is 3.6, but if you only count the last 5 years, it's a 4.0. I have lots of work experience and varied interests, but no volunteer experience. I'm planning on registering as a premed if I get in. Do I have any hope?

If that 4.0 represents a fair number of classes, and you write an excellent essay, I'd say you've got a decent shot. It's all about the essay.

Hey guys

First post on here, but I've been scouring CC for a couple of years ^^, very helpful sight

I too am applying to GS for Fall 2012, even though I'll be 19 this year, but I am a non-traditional student. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and some clubs. Nothing too stellar

Anyway, Good Luck to everyone on here, hopefully they accept us all haha
