My stats: I am 28 years old, military veteran (5 years). I took an interest in computers at a very young age, and have a lot of work experience in the tech industry. Computers and technology are both a passion and a profession.
These days I run a small consulting firm specializing in low level computing.
I have bad high school grades (long story…), but I scored 2290 on the SAT.
EC – I’ve been volunteering for years as an instructor in one of our military’s tech schools, teaching Programming, Operating system internals, Computer networks and other stuff.
Was wondering did u receive the notification by mail or phone? And looking at previous threads, people who were accepted were able to log into financial aid website, are you able to access it?
I imagine there is a good possibility the results will be delayed due to the storm. I didn't submit mine until the 5th, but I have had my fingers crossed ever since.
I talked to admissions yesterday, they were closed all last week because of Sandy and yesterday because of the election. So they will begin on Wed again, most people should find out this month, if you have a personal reason for a more expedient answer such as myself, they will do their best to meet a specific date.
I also submitted on the 5th, and I know some people asked for extensions due to the hurricane. I guess the international applicants are being notified.
My admissions package. I didn't finalize everything until then. I imagine I will not hear until later this month as I waited until the last minute. Has anyone else been on the tours? I went in September. I really enjoyed it.
I submitted my application (early decision) on Aug 18th but my final rec wasn't processed until early September. Each day that I wait, the more I feel like I'll be mass notified with all the other rejections later in the month. I'm trying to stay positive though, as I believe that I'm a good candidate! Hope everyone on here receives good news VERY SOON.
I'm such a dumb-dumb. It turns out I did attach my resume, but on the education portion, because I have been turning my resume in locally and because I also applied to the University of Washington, I put "Seeking Transfer to University of Washington, blah blah blah" in the degree earned portion of my resume. I just didn't want potential employers to think I was going to bail on them, and unfortunately, that is the one I attached to my GS application. I just reviewed it. I feel like such a jerk.
