@higheredaspirer

"likely letters," are letters(sometimes preceded by an email) from schools to applicants that let that student know that they in fact intend to accept the student. It's a pre-acceptance letter designed to keep that student's interest on said college/university during the whirlwind of application season. There is positive power in knowing you're "in," somewhere early on in the process and it helps institutions stay in the minds of students they want.

Question for LL recipients:
Have you received a financial aid offer yet? On another thread, people have been talking about how they either 1) got an email saying their financial aid material is complete 2) got an email stating their award.

I did not receive a likely letter, but I did receive an email stating that my financial aid material was complete.

I did NOT receive a LL, and received an e-mail saying my finaid was not complete. I had to send some stuff in on the day of the deadline because of other issues, and am waiting for all the processing to finish.
Then here's a question: did everyone receive an e-mail today concerning financial aid? If you did not, please speak up. Thanks!
