***LATE-JUNE: Be on the lookout for three important communications.
1. You will receive a “Financing Options” email from our office detailing information about monthly payment plans, student loans, parent loans, etc. There are no immediate deadlines; however, we strongly recommend that you finalize your financing plans before the Fall semester begins.
2. You will be emailed an Outside Scholarship Notification Form by Xinhan-Jane Zhang, our Special Projects Coordinator. Our requested deadline is July 25, 2012.
3. You will be receiving information from Columbia Health Services
EARLY AUGUST: You will receive your first Columbia STUDENT ACCOUNT STATEMENT (aka E-Bill) via email at your Columbia Email Account in the middle of AUGUST 2012. Your E-Bill will include Fall 2012 charges and anticipated Fall 2012 financial aid. The Spring E-Bill is sent in December 2012. We will email you a list of "Frequently Asked Billing Questions" to help you understand your first statement and payment responsibilities.
Please watch your Columbia email account over the summer and throughout the school year for important messages from our office. We will remind you of upcoming deadlines, notify you when we’ll be available for appointments, and send you notifications about your account status. We will email you information about our OFFICE HOURS and about the option of scheduling an appointment with your advisor as the new school year begins.
as for room allocation, you should receive an email in August regarding your room assignment and roommate.
Health Services: MMR
^this is all the information you need regarding immunization procedure. I contacted CU health services via phone and they informed me that incoming students must fill in the Columbia University MMR Form, which can be found in the link provided above. In addition it is advisable to fax them a copy of your immunization record.
Hope this was helpful!
