The *actual* character limits?

This is my first time posting on this site, so here goes.

I am sooo confused about what the *actual* character limit is on the short answer questions... I've seen 300, 600, and 1500... Is it changing from year to year? Does it depend on the question?... Does anyone know for sure which one it is? :S

It was clearly stated last year on the app that it was 1500 characters. Then again, the common app isn't available to you yet so you couldn't have seen it. But yes, 1500 characters.

Keep in mind that it includes spaces and that using line breaks will shorten the number of characters you can use. Always use the preview function!!!

You should not be using the entire amount. Any college advisor will recommend 700~
