Does anyone know if checking "no" on the "have you ever visited the campus before" question on the commonapp supplement makes any sort of difference? Hopefully they dont care
I'm sure they'd prefer to see that you've made an informed decision after having toured the campus in person and felt the vibe of the school, but if you live in like New Mexico I'm sure admissions would understand if you didn't make a trip all the way up here to New York.
Also: to everyone who is worrying about the lack of a reply/confirmation from Columbia, this page will help you. It says you should expect your Columbia ID up to 30 days after submitting everything. Application Tracking | Columbia Undergraduate Admissions
@s65amg: not sure if it's relevant, but we do not count "demonstrated interest" in the application process. So having visited never vs. once vs. fifty times is not supposed to matter.
I'm applying ED to Columbia as well as: Princeton, Penn, Stanford, UChicago, WashU, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, and NYU if I don't get in. Can you guys chance me and tell me how reasonable my chances are at Columbia ED? Thanks.
@cardoza Yes, that's right. There are three RCs (Undergraduate/Multicultural/Global).
@hobbesette I don't know her specifically; it's been a bit of a crazy time with the ED deadline and the hurricane and Thanksgiving so she might be hard to get a hold of. Do keep emailing, but I also recommend calling - do it *now* before ED decisions start the call bonanza.
Do any of you know what day is decision day? If I had to guess I would say December 13th because for the past couple years, Columbia has been releasing decisions on the second Thursday of the month.
My S applied early decision to Columbia only. He received his likely letter for fencing last week. Columbia was his first choice and the coach was interested in him. We figured if it didn't work out he could start applying elsewhere.
does anyone know when the ED results come out? second thursday of december? although i love columbia, i know don't have a strong chance so i'm starting my applications to nyu, brown, georgetown, cornell, binghamton, and uchicago. guuuuulp. good luck everyone <3
I'm applying ED Columbia and EA University of Chicago. For the regular round, planning to apply to Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, University of San Francisco, and UCLA
Good Luck to everyone! Super nervous about the results but trying to stay optimistic. We'll all end up up where we are meant to be, cheesy as that might sound =D
